On the cruise I used my wife as a monopod. The lens rested quite well on her head.

Wow, Yankee ingenuity at it's best! I have been looking for an armrest, and now I have an idea for one. Thanks, Barkley!

ahhh took me a bit to find one at this price. most listing are what you paid. Being a camera and computer techno somewhat geek....I tend to be really good at finding good prices. I am forever upgrading!! I rely on real people like you guys in the forum to find out what is a good product not the "reviews". thanks

OR.....the new Canon 50D with 28-300 Image Stabilized lens at Costco for 1299.00

15 MP with Live View 3" LCD and 6 frames per second

Costco - $1,299.99 after $100 OFF Canon EOS 50D 28-135mm IS 15.1MP 3.0" Live View Screen

Got an opportunity to use one for a couple days, even though I shoot Nikon, the better brand, and wouldn't change....its a damn nice camera...!

BUT...I would add a Canon 5D Mk II to the mix before spring, for several reasons, one being the super video clips it shoots vs the D90

Guess I'm one of the oddballs here, using a Pentax. I use a Pentax K10D, bought it before the K20 came out. With a Pentax 18-250 lens. Just got a monopod at Christmas and it is very handy, really glad I got it.

The last image is pristine, Dawn...I love the shadows on its face. Moosies were out in droves this day - there were six we saw between here and Anchorage...along with a few ditch divers - sheesh. Arrived back home to a young bull by our drive.
