Surveying the ice on the lake yesterday. It was so foggy we decided against any attempt to cross to the island. We're gonna give it another week or two. We did ride a couple miles up and down the shoreline which was nice.

Called the Feds and asked about riding snowmachine on Hidden Lake. Refuge is closed awaiting more snow. So we didn't unload the sleds here.

N.C. at least, we are equal opportunity hunters, the law makes no real distinction between genders as possible targets. This year I got two of each.

Mine is red fox, my buddy's is either silver tip or indigo fox. I still prefer beaver.

After the Vik's game the Jets game was drab and boring. So I took a ride out to the lake to have a look see at the ice. It's coming along nicely.

You can see the fractures strung out that we could not see due to fog the other day. Hopefully another 10 days or so with some decent cold it'll be ready to ride. The islands which lie 5 miles from the parking lot.

Was hoping for some sun on the mountains but it clouded up before I got out there. The lighting sucked.
But it felt good to get off the couch and get some fresh air. I think I'm on the downhill side of this cold.
