Wait until late this summer, when the barge comes in... That $4.65 price was set last July when the barges that serve western Alaska and the North Slope were loaded.

This July we are all expecting something between $1.50 and $2.00 or more increase. So Bethel might be looking at $6.50 or a bit more per gallon.

Barrow is something like $4.95 now, and will probably be about $7 per gallon at the end of next September.

Just imagine my Suburban, with a 40 gallon tank...

Just imagine a boat that sucks 10 gallons of gas an hour!

Yep, it's due in here tomorrow at 7. I wanted to go down and protest, but all my comrades wimped out and I don't have the cajones to do it alone.

Xa'at, you need to hold up a sign down at the dock with a sign, "Xa'at Tours," and take everyone for a short walk and get them lost and hightail it. The fun that would bring.

Hey you guys-
Does Bethel have E85 (I think that is the name)...that part corn fuel? It is alot cheaper than gasoline here in Indiana...of course, we are all about corn!

I've never been to bethel but I'm going out on a limb here to say that you are not going to find that in Alaska... anywhere. Point of fact, I've never seen a gas station that sells E85 ethanol in all my travels across the west coast.
