LOL - I thought was shock collar - I want some - I detest the barking - you would think after 8 months, they would no longer bark at the peops next door, anybody going by on the road.....the two older ones are starting to teach the pup to bark, but he is pretty good until the man guy comes home from work, then they all go crazy!!!! They are like the kids and just bark to hear themselves I think...Our neighbors have a little girl about the size of your guy and let her run all over - surprised she is not roadkill, though not near that much of that here as in MN and WY, surprised more squirrels don't get squished - they must be smarter here

I was considering a cedar fence, but really, didn't want the dogs to not have a view I see...and there's just something about fencing in a dog that bothers me. Just an opinion of mine. And really, the wireless system is great, cost less through Cabelas than a fence, and the Bug's receiver is on the lowest setting...I can walk through with it and it just is a small buzz...not a zap at all. It beeps first and that is all he usually needs before he backs up. He likes to test it every morning, runs up the driveway and I hear the beep and see a white blur running back into the yard.
It gives them all the room they need to roam and makes me feel better if I have to run inside. The road can be quite busy and speed limits are optional it seems.

Indeed pets & children seem to be fair game for people that drive like idiots.

I didn't even think about people walking through with those fences!!! White blur- hilarious - and know the speed limit - we are on a gravel road with a 25-mile speed limit and they zoom down the road, and then there is the gravel truck going 50+ on the gravel and all the dust....I am going to bring out the nails....,etc....

Lady, he is adorable, I so love Papillons!! Just a word on shock collars though, Grannysroost. You do have to be very careful when you use them. It worked great on my Cairn, I won't use them anymore, but if I put it on him without the battery he won't make a peep. But my Yorkie barked right thru it, everytime, burned horrible holes in his neck that didn't heal for weeks, not to mention the guilt trip I got to have.

Ok Barkley - I am too lazy to go look up, unlike "oosik's" what are they?? need to know....
Lyoness - don't worry - I had used before, and don't torment - set way down low and just give a jolt if running or excessive barking for no reason, and for my little guys - would put the small leads on - and only use after verbally reprimanding, which no longer works

They're iron spheres that have spikes in them. No matter which way it rests there's always a spike upright to puncture a tire.
