Driving on a frozen river is a trip to me....looks like the water is just right below the ice....eeeek.....scary....Be Careful warptman! I showed my dad your pictures because he used to be stationed in ak and he's been to Bethel a lot...he says it looks the same and he said he used to land his plane on a frozen river...not the one that you show us though.

Warpman...do they hold any car races on the river? Snowmachine races? We used to have some good circle track ice racing down my way on a frozen lake.

Not anymore. We raced snowmachines and four wheelers in the 90s. Things got too expensive and our club disbanded. I miss those days.

A sundog is a rainbow-like spot in a cirrus cloud. Light shining through ice crystals in the cloud makes a sundog, much like light shining through raindrops makes a rainbow.
