I would have started as Floyd said...at F5.6, and with the brightness...probably at ISO 200, and would have set the whitebalance near zero to let the camera determine the speed. The histogram is the first thing I look at after taking a shot and I'll make adjustments from there. Of course the subject only gave a mere second to shoot and your pretty much able to get the one or two shots. So being prepared as much as possible before hand can make all the difference.

Most the time I don't know what settings I'm shooting with. Always an experiment with me.

Here are some pics from the drive from Haines to Anchorage:

Beaver Creek, trust me, its there

Another freaking fog bank. It was so foggy in Tok we only say Fast Eddys. It took careful watching to find the gas station.

Haines Junction

The Haines Summit was ridiculous.

Good pictures.... blue sky, a little sun in places, freshly plowed pavement and a mirror shot.

I see a nice rock clip in your windshield & 2 CD's on your dash....

Driven that particular route several times in the winter, to the coffee shop & bakery in the Junction

Where are your pictures along Kluane Lake...?
