True. But I've been reading stories about bears in Alaska that seem to be as smart as humans when it comes to hunting. Sometimes they can hunt humans before the humans realize that they are being hunted.

Why not? They live not only in the ice. By the way Russian Wrangel Island (Reserve) is the so-called "polar bear maternity hospitals". Very often, the polar bears are coming far inland for searching of food. They even love to dig in the garbage bins of coastal towns. And relaxing in the grass - it's not a problem for them.

Sometimes , "narcissistic humanity" underestimates the intelligence of the wild animals. We would have to learn a lot from them.
