Canon T1i with the cheapo stock lens for now- efs 18-55mm. No, I am a sucker for honesty, I refused to accept the second box. They would probably come back after me anyways...

It's a nice little camera. Check Amazon or the local Barnes & Noble and see if they have a book written specifically for the T1 by David D. Bush. It will save you a lot of time learning how to use your camera. Although I use a 40D, I can give you some pointers about the different modes on a PM (if you want).

Item not released yet... I will watch out for it.
Any advice is always welcome. I used to have a digital Rebel, 8mp so I am somewhat familiar with this design, but I never ventured into manual setups.
Also I will have to come up with few hundred bucks, well prolly closer to a thousand so my son can build me a decent computer. Laptop would be nice, but a lot more expensive. The one I am using is just a very basic back-up machine that is old and out of memory. I am sure I could not use any of the software that came with this Canon.
Thanks Ray!

There is more to the story. Amazon did charge me twice, but they denied this, claiming that it was only some sort of a payment authorisation, not an actual charge. But they got paid twice and we had the bank fax them the proof- all while they claimed only one transaction took place. Well, today they released one of the payments and two cameras arrived It really sounds liek they had no idea two items were shipped...

The Amazon saga continues... now they want to issue a full refund for the camera I refused to accept. The free one. Go figure...
