Those yellow things are called pipe elevators. They latch around the top of drill pipe or production tubing. So it can be pulled from and ran into the well.
On the far end of the plywood are dis-assembled rig tongs. Very large pipe wrenches used to tighten a pipe connection after it has been screwed together, or to initially break the connection so the pipe can be unscrewed.

Skeeters ain't that big. But they are highly aggressive and there are a million of them!

I took a ten minute walk with my longsleeve shirt on. Barely made it back in side. It's hot.
