warptman, this was posted 7-5-09 (page 577), but, I just had to comment with this:

High Flight

by John Gillespie Magee, Jr.

Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth,
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds...and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of...wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there,
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up, the long, delirious burning blue
I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, nor even eagle flew.
And while with silent, lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space...
...put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

We're not going to take it anymore! I LOVE AMERICA! Thanks everyone! I LOVE this forum and threads.

A Airforce C-17 Globemaster was here this evening dropping off supplies at the Army Hangar here this evening. It's nice to have friends in high places for ramp access!

Northland's second big barge this evening.

So many fantastic photographs. So many wonderful photographers. Thank you to everyone for sharing the splendor of your beautiful section of the planet and your photographic skills. I'm awed.

:::And now I shall walk away with my head hung in shame and my point and click hanging from my neck.:::
