Default A Cool Stove - ' Help for the Rural areas '

In the current issue of Popular Science page 32 is an article describing a product that is suppose to be available in 2 years. It is a small wood stove that also makes a little water and electricity. The thing is being made with Africa in mind and will cost about $40 but seems to me it would work in a lot of Alaska. We will see if it comes to the market but thought I would mention it.
While I am on the subject does anyone know of water filtration process that can handle glacier water?

Most glacial water needs little or no filtration. Settling tanks allow most if not all of the striated sedimenta to drop to the bottom, and a charcoal filter with a micron filter follow up will remove the rest.
