I have 8 yrs. of military before an injury, put me to pasture from Uncle Sam. I was stationed in Washington state and it was one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. I know it is not like AK, I love and respect nature and look forward to bragging about the Aurora's to my family/friends not brave enough to venture no futher than one city over.

i need someone to find out the true answer and stop writing what you think why people move that. It's really annoying reading all of these and there's no specific answer.

Sadly with that mind set, no answer will let you know why people love Alaska.

Mostly it is a state of mind for most people, and you don't seem to grasp what everyone has been saying.

There are many that come to make big bucks then leave with no thought to the richness that is around them, "As seen on TV"! For them, I simply have no respect, nor care if they ever come here.

And it's really annoying to answer a question like that from a one time, first post spammer.

Hello.... the last post on this thread you brought back to life was 12/03/2007 ...it's really annoying when poster do not check the date of the thread and then complain.

no one is telling you that you can't FIND one..there is no one set in stone answer as it is different for everyone....just like you like and do things for a totally different reason than friends or people you know...it is called diversity of tastes in life style.

Nobody has a specific answer. There are different reasons for different folks. What you are asking is impossible to answer.

I think that you're in the wrong place. This is a relocation forum.

People here can be pretty helpful, but we aren't here to provide homework assistance on demand.

what happened to the part of the OP's post of "before the Alaska became a state"?? also rudeness/arrogance will get you no where in life or here...demanding is not a becoming trait.

If you have to ask the question, you'll never understand the answer.
