There is always work locally (is nome of the local shops or businesses) for people with such skills, but the best jobs in these fields are controlled by the unions. However, even the unions sometimes hire welders and such temporarily once the workers have the AK fitness cards. I have also seems some who are trained through the union, and then hired.
