The question isn't can you put a person to sleep for surgery, it's "can you wake them up after it's over?" Head out in a northwesterly direction and you get there. A good GPS and a copy of the Milepost are all you need.

I can put a person to sleep for surgery, no problem, ask me about diseases, no problem.....and for the most part I think I have a good sense of direction but this is more than trip to Boston--which I do all the time. So, if you don't mind me asking for help--game on..I am going to plan to drive.
Wow I hope you put on a happier face when you're intubating somebody. Although, I guess at that point they won't know the difference.

But that's one ugly driver!

I clicked on this thread and it started me out on page 36 with a lot of references to Ft. Nelson, boy if that doesn't bring back memories. In '74 there was a bad storm that wiped out the roads in both directions for a long ways, and there we sat for 10 days. The only way out was by air. The semi's with perishables just opened their doors and handed out food to everyone. It was entertaining, but a long wait.

We were a little cold at first because it took time to heat the house up but now it is all snug and warm. We dont have internet there yet but I will try and update everyone some more daily.
Lucky... enjoy it for those who haven't left yet. :-(

I still have to wait two more years for my Alaskan adventure. :'-(

*sigh*

Hello everyone
It has been a very very busy week here. We have been cleaning in the warm 32* weather. It is so strange not to be covered with layers and layers just to be outside when it is less than 50. We got our inverter system all set up. We have to clean out our water tank so that we can get a shipment of water in but right now we are just hauling it. The kids love the school here. The town is just so warm and welcoming, people have been dropping by daily just to make sure we are ok. It is snowing lightly here but nothing heavy.
The place I come to use the internet doesn't have very much bandwith so it is very hard to post or get on often. I can't wait to have our set up at our home. Things are definately different here. We had our first salmon that a neighbor brought to us the other day YUM YUM.
I guess the first lesson we have learned is that if you must have a long hot shower everyday then you might be in trouble. We are buying an instant hot water heater so that showers will be easier.

It's great that the kids love the school. That'll help.

Sounds like the community has been very welcoming. That's great as well. It's a good start. Probably a good thing that you are seeing some snow before the summer, you won't be too shocked next winter.

You missed a rainy weekend here. It got up to almost 60* today. The hot topic is home invasions & people are buying a lot of guns. Other than that I'm into my 4 month window till our cruise. I can't wait. I wish we were already there.

We are in Fairbanks tonight spending the night so that my husband can go to a job fair for a company called Doyon. He is trying to get in at one of the companies up in the slope or Barrow area. He has put in a couple of apps. through the Alaska Job Bank as well. Currently the men that are employeed in that area that live where we do are gone and won't be back till the 15th a couple of their wives have spoken to them and they said to make sure to have a resume when they get home for them because they will take them back to their companies.
I already have a job secured at the local restuarant/bar starting in just a couple of weeks once break up happens because that is when most of the mines open up.
