Hey myrc! Did your temps make it into the upper 90s like it did here today?

Our temps here near Greenwood, SC got into the Upper 70s. Going to be in the lower 70s Saturday and right around 60 degrees on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

Life is good here is our small little town. We spent the weekend cutting wood and just having people to dropping by. Everyone was so nice and we got some really good homemade goodies to eat. It reminds me of how things were on Little House the TV show.
I am learning that things are more expensive though unless you buy it in Fairbanks and then the prices aren't to bad just a few cents more than we used to pay. This weekend we are going to go get 15 chickens. We may also check into getting a goat. |

Make sure you get at least one rooster! Try to get one of those rhode island reds. They get big and mean and guard the henhouse.

No but it did get to the low 80's. The mountains help keep us cooler.

Things are just more expensive in the bush. Such as a 12pk of Cokes is 4.98 in Fairbanks but $7.00 in the bush. Hamburger is $5.00 per pound here in the bush but way cheaper in Fairbanks.

And is why it's nice to get a moose in the fall to help take away some of the burden of buying high dollar low grade meat! Or a sheep or a goat. Or a caribou. And fish. Anything helps.
