Yes the IRS gets its share!

The way they look at taxes is kind of decieving, We really pay more than people think, they just don't know that is what is happening. We have lots more user fees than ever before and the local refinery pays the stae and extra 10% above market price to use the states share of oil in the refinery. So we pay a 10 % tax on all fuel we use, this is above the stated .08 per gallon on gas. So figure the average smaller house uses around 1200 gallons of fuel a year, I just had a fill up and the price was $2.35 a gallon.
Unleaded is running around $2.90 a gallon. You do the math.

Default Low Tax Myth

Lets not forget that the only reason Alaskans pay no state income taxes is because of the oil royalties. If the oil were to stop flowing tomorrow, every Alaskan man, woman, AND child would have to pay more than $13,000 annually to the state just to cover our existing $8.7 billion budget.

Naw!! we would just raise the costs to the tourists!!! Then once we killed off that industry also we could cut the budget by getting rid of those two departments! Cut DEC also as they wont need that many to monitor either. Hey were back to pre pipeline days! begging for handouts from the feds, and hoping to keep the military presence.

Ok, I am kidding! REALLY!!!!
