Welcome to Bethel, I'd show you around but I'm in Seward until the 21st. I'll be home on the 25th.

I thought I would just try to revive this thread instead of creating a new one. I have a job interview next week for a promotion with the TSA at the Bethel Airport, and I would like to know a few things. (If I get the job, I should be there within 60 days)

I have done some research, and it seems it would cost me about $2,000 to barge my car from Seattle to Bethel (after driving from South Dakota). Would it be cheaper and/or more efficient to just sell my car here and buy a vehicle when I get there (I bluebooked my car for about $8,000).

Also, what is the renting situation for places to live. I can't seem to come up with anything other than a single agency that has yet to return my email. It is just myself moving up there, so all I would need is a studio or 1 bedroom. Thanks in advanced.

Did you try calling them? Like on the phone? Sometimes I go 3 or 4 days without checking that email thing.

I did try the phone number listed, but I guess the downside to living in a small town is I can hardly understand some dialects of English over the phone (mostly Asian pronunciations). Here is a script of how the conversation went down.

Realator: Kjdfandka Rjkflkjnr. Hown kain ah kap oo.

Me: I'm sorry?

Me: I'm sorry, wrong number....

I think I may have spotted why you are having trouble getting someone to help you!

Also, where the heck are you planning to drive in Bethel that you would want to have a car there?

To the airport, it's four miles from town.

Yea, the guy from the barge company I talked to said it would be $2,000 to barge the car. But I would also have to drive 1200 miles to Seattle. Granted, the gas would only cost me around $250-$300. Also, I would save $200 by flying from Seattle. So the estimate for barging would be a loss around $2,100. If I managed to sell my car here though, I could get $6,500 for it so I would have a net gain of $5,900. As long as I found a car lesser to or greater than that amount in Bethel, I would save money.
