Bud is correct that Seward is a beautiful little town, with it being a little town it is also very much like a peyton place so don't plan on keeping your business to yorself. Seward can get very windy in the winter time along with being icy, I've seen folks actually crawl on the sidewalk from one pole to another to move up 4th avenue. Avalanches are not normaly a challenge in town but have been know to cut off the road system at mile 18 but it's been awhile since that has happened. My family has lived in Seward since the 40's and yes went through and survived the 64 earthquake.
