Echo Rainy's sentiments...
Yes, there are many great men here, but seems like they are all taken!! I have been up here a few years now and no dice. I also have all my teeth and a good job. But maybe I scare them off; I hunt by myself, fish by myself, boat on my own, and even change my own oil! Maybe that's a turn-off; but I just didn't feel like waiting for a man to come along to do all that stuff!!
Anyone single looking to move up here; don't come for the men, come for the lifestyle and because you want to make a life here. Somebody special will eventually notice you! (I hope that will come true for me too someday). For right now, just being where I'm at and in Alaska is great.

Yeah...I'm single and have to change my own engine oil as well. What's up with that?

Hehehehe Rance, I know...it's like, it's there to be done! More women give me grief about doing stuff like that than men ever have; like "why don't you just get Bob or Jim to do that?" Well, why should I? Why shouldn't I just get off my a## and do it myself?? Oh well. I guess if those ladie's power went out and their husband was gone, they'd be S.O.L.

Which part of Prince of Wales Island are you located?
I'm a contractor doing work on the Hydaburg School.
Do you have a boat? If yes, send picture.

Hey
How come there isn't any women like you in my town now??
I've heard the goods are odd before, but I also heard that in Sterling, you don't lose your girlfriend, you lose your turn. (Just kidding Rance)

Is that really the truth, Rance? If so, that's sad.
I've heard that saying a lot in small Alaska towns. I always found it....well, insulting. Personally I don't live that lifestyle and don't have a lot of use for those who do.
Personally, I'll leave here at some point; I've known that for awhile. Socially, rural Alaska just doesn't have it. It's depressing to admit that but it's the truth.
