No...no money. I just like getting out in spots that are worth taking. Some are harder than others to get to, but well worth the effort. And these pictures are not all that great. Does not compare to the real thing! But thanks for looking. Hope there was something you liked.

Id second this about the website, some stunning photos indeed. Nature to die - or live - for. Even the town's welcome sign is nice up there.
Keep up the good work.
(This forum is a treasure).

The pictures are beautiful Rance, I miss the wilderness. When we moved to the Sierra Nevada foothills, you could go 10 minutes in any direction and be totally alone, near a river or lake. It's gorgeous, lived there 30 years. Now it is over populated. I grew up in the mountains and because of my Father, I respect and admire the beauty of the wilderness.
I have often thought about Alaska, because, as I have said before, even though I am alone, I am not lonely and have never felt uncomfortable in rural areas. I do relate to the previous posts about rural life! Sometimes it's a trade off, if you want to be very social and always meeting new people, then the city is for you. Sometimes, maybe we can have both, sociality and beautiful scenery.
I would love to go to Alaska. I have never lived in a neighborhood, per say, since my father moved us out of LA in 1963. We moved right after the first Kennedy was shot and the Martin Luther King riots were just beginning to surface. My Junior high school had police and security guards on campus. Wow, I just thought of that, never lived where there were walls or fences separating houses, always had land and trees. Even now in Mayberry, I am renting a house, close to the main road, but hey, no neighbors. I like it that way.
OH and Sterling? Well let's just say my ancestor's could have founded that town.

Thank you for both, the greet and photo. Its a pleasure to read postings on this forum; think I learned a lot about the USA here. Somehow, I tend to like remoted places, like N Dakota or Alaska. It looks some areas of the States are getting overpopulated, but you still have great escapes for the pioneer spirit holders.
Have you taken the picture of bear yourself? The fellow looks way too hungry to get close to him! Fascinating.
