We sent a medevac to Anchorage and the crew called and said the winds were so bad they thought they were going to crash. They said they had never experienced turbulence that bad before.

No, it's not unusual. August and September are the heavy rain months here in Southcentral Alaska. This same flooding pattern played out at almost the same time of year about five falls ago.

For a couple of days most aircraft had to be routed to the Fairbanks airport because of the high winds in Anchorage.

I was just mentioning to my husband that Barrow looks like it's getting pretty wet there. I've been watching that webcam for several years and I don't recall seeing as much water there as I'm seeing now.

It's been a very rainy Summer here. My first Summer it never really rained, it just sprinkled or misted but this year we've had a few really heavy rains and many days of rain in a row.
