I'm going to be making this drive from South Carolina to Eagle River in mid December.

I drove a 2013 Scion tC from ak to Ohio using the Alcan. No gas cans nothing. Middle of winter, snow was bad and didn’t see people for 10 hours at a time.

Totally worth it though. Just fill up fuel at each station you pass. I had 400 mile range in car so no need for gas cans. I’d sleep w car on would use like two gallons at night.

You’ll be fine! The alcan is smooth since holes are filled w Ice and snow too. I didn’t have studs etc. just used Michelin x ice 3 winter tires. Eats all snow and ice for my fwd car

I agree about the gas. You can get gas at Dawson Creek, Fort St John, Fort Nelson, Watson Lake, Teslin, Whitehorse, Haines Junction and Beaver Creek all year round. There are a few others, but any vehicle should be able to make it from one to the next without any worries.
