Not anti-dog, I have a dog - anti-owner taking responsibility for their dog... which always seems to be accompanied with the phrase "my dog wouldn't do that"

Yeah I said that - cold vs. very cold... 5 degrees is not exactly a heat wave...

Tonite here in Nikiski it is 31 by the inlet, at Nenana where my house is, it is -32 awhile ago when I called the house to check on the heat and power.

I installed an alarm system that will call me and tell me if the power is out, the heat is down and a host of other things including the outside and inside temps.

Thought I'd give an update on this one- visited Homer last summer and wasn't a huge fan. We were there in July so it was jam-packed with tourists. Yuck. It also just felt too small, and we felt the land prices were outrageous.

So we ended up buying this September in Ester. We found a perfect little 5 Star Energy home on 5 acres for $194,000. Just a 10 minute drive to town.

Well we won't be moving in for another 2.5 years, but I'll keep that in mind

We decided to get a place while rates were low, continue to work in the village and save some bucks, while renting the house to friends of friends.
