I watch a number of these show. My favorite is Gold Rush, but when "Out of the Wild" was on I really liked that.

Big Hair Alaska, probably the most painful to watch TV show I have ever seen.

We're hoping the Buying Alaska show stirs a lot of interest in AK property so we can sell our house for huge money and retire to a place down south....said place to be determined by tying a snow shovel to the truck and when someone asks "what's that" we will know we're far enough south.

"Why is there a cord sticking out of your grill?"

My favorite question when I drive down to the states. 'It's a Hybride Ford Ranger.'

What channel is buying Alaska on? That sounds like one of the more interesting shows on right now.

"Buying Alaska" focuses on hunting and fishing cabins. Almost none of these places have running water or toilets. Lots of talk about outhouses.

That will most likely be extreme southern California or central Florida on down... Although for the most part none of Florida gets any real snow accumulation. And that buying Alaska show just reinforces everyone's belief down here that Alaska is NOT the place for them...

Can't wait for Ray et al to twist themselves into pretzels trying to defend this bs:

Quote:
Helping Hands LLC, unlike many other companies subsidized by the state thus far, reportedly used the majority of the total "Alaska expenses" to pay the salaries of the six Alaska residents, including Bristol Palin, who participated as "talent" on "Life's a Tripp."

You musta missed the ones on the million dollar island home in Sitka and the $300,000 hunting cabins up past Wasilla. I like the show though I don't see how people afford some of that stuff.

I thought Tim Osmar's property in Ninilchik-ish was priceless.

I suspect that a lot of slope workers, guides and other upper earners are cashing out and running off south.
