Good news, everyone!
I'm writing to you from somewhere off the coast of British Columbia, near Vancouver. We've got a high wind warning out, and I went and stood on the bow... most people yell "I'm the King of the World", I yelled "I'm going HOME!"... then I got a facefull of saltwater.

Will do. At this point, I'm trying to figure out how I have internet...  I don't remember ever having wireless internet on a AMHS vessel.

I dunno. But I've been connected to the same network with excellent signal strength since I was in the staging line in Bellingham. That's an awesome range...
The name of the wireless network, googled, leads to a company that produces "mesh networks"- multiple access points spread over a large area. No mention of usage on the Alaska Marine Highway, so I don't know how long this will last.
