Or you could come to Alaska and soak in the hot springs and ski and ride snowmachines and ice fish!

Thanks, I'll know that now! (I'm very good at hints, my problem is just that people in general don't understand them, sigh...)Please, please mighty Floridian princess (or do you want to be queen?), please let a poor Swede in on the magical secret of getting the message through! Please? *blink, blink* vpcats dear, don't let the 6 month disapearance of sunlight keep you from enjoying the world's true wonder: winter. Unfortunately, I have none since Siberia doesn't feel like cooling down and the North Atlantic keeps bringing us those dreadful warm winds. So... Can we nuke Siberia, please? Or drop a huge ice block on it? No? Was it too drastic? It was, huh? Ok... Xa'at, congratulations! Hey, I know the perfect thing for you A... language course! Did I hear a yay? Pimsleur Approach - Learn any language in 10 days with Pimsleur Awesome! Maybe something for you? They even got French Karla, was that bold enough? *blink, blink* (Yes, Rance, I AM going to bed. Soon, atleast...) |

The Internet is full of timetables relating to the Vietnam War, and some date back to long before the French were in Vietnam. We entered the War with the role of military advisors, which numbered 12 members. By 1964 the number had increased to 12,000 or more. These military advisors were CIA, special forces, etc., but not foot soldiers such as infantry and such. Their job, at the beginning, was to disrupt any possibility (s) of the election of a communist leader in South Vietnam, intelligence gathering, military training of the South Vietnamese forces, dropping "political" leafless from the air, and such. They were prohibited from doing the fighting with the North, but backed the South's military forces in numerous ways. Last edited by RayinAK; 01-14-2008 at 10:21 PM. |

Yeah, Johnson is widely credited with "starting" the Vietnam War. It's been interesting to read the history of it from something more than a U.S. viewpoint. I know there has been controversy over how this subject has been taught in public school history courses.
What's much more interesting to me than the history of war et al is the history of how people went about their daily lives...off subject I realize...and probably even boring to most people, but I've always been fascinated with the normal household lives of people in different eras. |
