As far as my communication skills, I'm able to get across what I mean to say.
I'm satisfied with that, .....I'm not here to see if I can please everyone,
....and I've never had much respect for people who only try to please everyone else.
As to 'rubbing people the wrong way'? Some folks can't abide with being exposed to what they'd just as soon not be reminded of.
Some folks like to harbor their own set of facts, or their own version of reality. Some folks don't like hearing anything which contradicts that.

Some folks wouldn't recognize themselves if they met themselves on the street.
Me, I set high ethical and moral standards for myself, and I abide by them.
I'm not unhappy with who I am, and I'm not unfamiliar with who I am.
Being at peace with my own conscience is not a problem for me, and that's all I concern myself with.
I'm not going to fight other peoples demons for them,
......I figure they'll eventually figure them out, or they won't.

"The optimist proclaims that we live in the best of all possible worlds,
and the pessimist fears this is true."
- James Branch Cabell
I've been called a pessimist, .....I don't know, .......I'd like to think we could live in a better world,
........but one thing I'm sure of is, ...we don't live in the best of all possible worlds.
So I'd have to think pessimism will serve a useful purpose.
Better than to think this is as good as it's ever going to get, eh?

...hoist the black flag,
...and begin slitting throats."
- Henry Louis Mencken

Such perfection almost makes you a god, although the excessive use of "I, myself, and me" reminds me of Narcissus.
