I read the holiday promo information today at work... It felt out of place. It still seems like fall! But alas, only two more weeks until eggnog lattés!
On the bright side, things are shaping up for a possible white Halloween! Now that's something you don't often seen in Juneau...
Wet Halloween, wet thanksgiving, wet Christmas, wet fourth of July... Except last year of course.

Oh! You will like this!
Last Christmas Day I had Christmas dinner at the resturant in the movie, and I think the same guy was serving! Excelent dinner, though I chickened out on the Duck. An unforgetable experience!

Hey, I knew you worked for a coffee house but didn't realize it was Starbuck's! It is isn't it? They are the only ones I know that sell Eggnog lattes. Try putting a little of the Chai stuff in one. UMMMM! Good!
I worked for one in Virginia parttime for about 6 months it was entertaining once they realized I was unable to take anything they said seriously. They didn't let me make drinks much, I mostly cashiered wish was great since I spent most of my time talking and entertaining the customers.
So do you love them or hate them? Most people seem to feel strongly about them.

Actually, according to the promo I read today Starbucks did invent the eggnog latté, but since they didn't think to copyright it now lots of other stores sell them too. The answer to your question, though, is yes I do work for Starbucks.
I know a lot of people have opinions about starbucks, but I think either way people should just chill out. If you love it more than life itself, (which some people do) then you should probably get a life. If you hate it because it's overly generic or whatever reason people have for hating it, then you should go somewhere else. No one is forcing you to go there.
When I got down here and decided to get a job, the first place I tried was locally owned organic coffee place, but they were flaky and didn't really seem interested in me, even though they needed a barista who wasn't moving away come fall. Maybe they thought I was too young. Eventually, they hired someone else who wasn't as qualified but was older. When I applied at Starbucks thinking I could always get a better job later, they were very welcoming, I was impressed.
When I was a little girl I vowed I'd never work for a large corporation, and part of me is a little embarrassed that I went back on my promise to myself. But the truth is, Starbucks has benefits and a paycheck that I could never get working at one of those stands by the road. I get health insurance, dental, etc, plus a free pound of coffee or tea a week. I've been giving friends my free coffee but come holidays I'm going to start donating it. Also, as large corporations go Starbucks is a good one. They give a lot of money to good causes- we donate all our uneaten pastries to the foodbank, donate lots of coffee to local charities, etc.
So, even though I'm a Heritage girl through and through, I am pretty happy working for Starbucks. When I finally go home, I may try to get a job at the Starbucks in Freddies, although I would be working for Freddies so I can't directly transfer. Maybe I'll work for Heritage.
The ultimate irony, however, is that a week after starting work I discovered that I'm seriously allergic to coffee. I drank very little before, but now I can't drink even a tiny bit without big trouble. *Sigh* Of course, I managed to get myself hooked on Caramel Frapps before I figured out why I was so sick all the time.
Nowadays, I'm sticking to my iced chais for my caff fix.
Hope that answers your question...

Wow Xa'at, I think that's the most I've ever seen you say!
First off, I am suprised that Starbucks dropped the ball on copyrighting the drink but hey I'm sure it won't break them.
As to liking or disliking Starbucks, I just asked because people seem to feel strongly about them. Personally I like the place and yes I do think that they seem to make an attempt to have a social conscious and to try to do something for their employees. I never thought I would work for them but they are pretty friendly and the pay was pretty good for a parttime job.
Girl you got free coffee and you don't drink it??!!! I can send you my address. Shoot that was one of the best things about working there was the coffee and the tea *sigh*.
OMG to be allergic to coffee!!!Serious sympathy!! Glad you found something there that appeals to you!!
Yeah one of the great things about Starbucks is that there is one almost everywhere (every 3 blocks in any direction in DC) and they have no problems with transfering you.
