I fly out tomorrow at 8 AM and by this time tomorrow night I'll be enjoying a tasty hot buttered Captain Morgan's.

I made it home! Man turnagain arm was wicked! 6 to 8 inches of snow on the road and no plows. Girdwood to the outhouses is bad. Here at the house we have maybe a 1/4 inch of snow. Bummer!

Nothing like a white-knuckle ride.

I made it out...they had to break up the ice in the bay before the float plane could land and then we taxied out for quite some time. Then we rose, gained altitude and...there it was, that big golden thing we haven't felt on our faces for weeks and it felt very good. Another beautiful flight over the Tongass and now I'm just a ferry ride away from a hot date with Captain Morgan. I think I'll have some of him in the bathtub.

Next week I'm going Outside for 3 weeks to see my son in Oregon and check on my house.

I just got home and ain't dropped no pins yet. I don't even have a pin. As long as I don't drop Cap't Morgan I'll be all right, eh?

The float plane ride was enthralling--we had to taxi out quite aways to get away from chunks of ice. Since our location is located in a place where we never get direct sunlight, the minute the sun hit our faces, it was purely sublime.
