Yep! It's actually closer to 2.75 weeks, but no one's going to quabble about that, right?
I quit my job the other day! Glad that's out of the way, but it'll be sad to go. As much as I ***** about Idaho, I've made a lot of friends and met a lot of great people that I'll miss.
I'll be back, though. Gotta finish the seeing the world thing, but it'll also be great to be home for a few months.

the weedwacker along with the edger and I have an "understanding" I have now gotten to the point where I don't "chip" off to much fence/stucco or concrete.
It's really sad when the neighborhood kid that has a lawn service offers to show you how to use the edger. I kinda think the light show from the sparks when the blade hits the concrete is pretty

Default Just so you know...

The Wind Chill has reached -50 in Kuparuk. Please review the following information prior to initiating any outside work.
A SAFETY TIME OUT AND HAZARD ASSESSMENT IS REQUIRED FOR OUTSIDE WORK

Attention must be paid to protecting the feet, hands, and head: especially the face, nose, eyes, and ears. When the head is exposed up to 40% of the body heat can be lost.

Dehydration increases the susceptibility to cold injuries due to significant change in blood flow to the extremities. Warm sweet drinks and soups should be taken to the work site to provide caloric intake and fluid volume.

Taking certain medications or drugs such as nicotine, or caffeine because of their diuretic and /or circulatory effects can increase susceptibility to cold.

Workers with a cold, flu, or certain diseases, such as diabetes, heart, vascular, or thyroid problems are more susceptible to cold.

Wind chill temperatures of -25 through -68 can freeze exposed flesh within one minute. Wind chill temperatures of -74 and colder can freeze exposed flesh within 30 seconds.

Make sure that employees have adequate arctic gear for extreme conditions including, gloves boots, hats, face shields, and goggles.

Frostbite can occur so quickly that you may not even know that it is happening. Keep all flesh covered.
If you think you have suffered frostbite get treatment at the clinic ASAP.

Recognize the signs and symptoms of hypothermia.
All workers should be under periodic observation (buddy system or supervision) or have radio contact.
Whenever possible work behind a windbreak.
Prioritize all outdoor activities during extreme wind chill conditions.
Evaluate if the work should be done or delayed until less hazardous conditions exist.
