honestly???
No.
But with the way things are shaping I think we may end up being the last real Americans.
That is , after we clean up our dirty laundry......

I've only been here about 5 years. I think the primary difference between here and the lower 48 is that we are a community first. My neighbors have always been friendly and understanding. Back yard fences are a place to hang out and chat. I lived in California and Washington state before this. My neighbors were the pits. Changing neighborhoods didn't change the atmosphere, just the scenery. Most of the folks I know are my age, and are unreformed hippies at heart. Suits me. I get along just fine as a former Vietnam vet. I can understand them, and their outlook on life. Some are Dems, some aren't. We don't argue politics. We sometimes disagree, but in a very friendly fashion. I'm considered a reactionary by a lot of standards here. People take that in stride. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but my friends don't let it interfere with their acceptance of me.

Maybe the term I want to use IS acceptance. Alaskans accept everybody, except those who would interfere with life in Alaska.

Your parents must be so proud of you.

Oh yes, that's very clever. Insult Xa'at with little sound bites that aren't even complete sentences! Ooh, she must be so ashamed!
I should remind you that the topic of the thread is "Political Leanings of ALASKANS", not "random insults of hypocritical Outsiders".
This "discussion" is finished. I refuse to continue to argue with you about morality, since it is clear we are getting nowhere.

Uh....

stfu, Joe.

That is all.

Now...I have to wonder why people are always trying to pigeonhole Alaskans, saying Alaskans are this way or that way, the average Alaskan is...blah blah blah.

Yawn.

I lied. I'm entitled because I am a seething mass of inconsistent hormones and the mother of all hot flashes just cruised through both my body and my soul.

I ain't done with ya, Joe.

This is one thing that can be generalized about Alaskans.

If you attack one of us for thinking or believing a certain way, especially one of our fine young people...you may as well attack us all.

What a crying shame you were unable to defend your bible thumping "mentality" with anything but a slam on someone who doesn't happen to allow a monkey ass faced goon of an election stealing oil ***** to do her thinking for her.

Too bad about you.

I am sure her parents are as proud of her as I am of my son.

Exponentially so and with very good cause.

You are dismissed now, Joe. Bye bye.

I've been leaning toward Willie Nelson for president for years. I may have to lean on him a little harder.
And yes...being an Alaskan "is" different than being an American. I am an Alaskan American and proud of it.
