Default racing in the interior

ever since septemer 11th 2001 the FT Wainwright gate was closed to most civilian traffic which was the main cause to shutting down the use of using one of their airfields for the drag strip

since then there has been pretty much no activities in auto racing motor sports in the interior legally.

the Fairbanks racing lions have for many years been the ones who have been setting up the drag racing and other motor sports but with the lack of a place to legally race their numbers are dwindling and they may end up losing their right to run pull tabs which is where the money goes towards All of the
equipment the club has acquired over the years a fire truck,
ambulance,
grandstands, timing tower equipped with P.A. and timing lights etc.

id really hate to see the chance of legal racing go away up here, the closet we have is in Tanacross and palmer which is quite a drive just to race for a little bit
Fairbanks :: View topic - Racing lions, possible last call

the racing lions have been working hard to get a race track set up in Nenana for the past few years and have had to go throgh many hurdles. the planes for the track would be a drag strip and road course in summer and snow machining and cold weather testing in winter. something like that would not only benifit the inteior but the whole state in general
