I've just spent the last hour or so reading through old posts on this subject, and now my head is spinning. Thanks to everyone for all of their info! However, I did find that much of the information is from several years ago, with the most current being last summer.

I'm just wondering if all the comments about the various cruise lines is still valid, or have some of the lines made changes to their food and accommodations? I'm trying to decide which cruise line would be the most comfortable for an older (but energetic) couple who aren't too picky but want a good value for our hard-earned money.

We are thinking of going in late August and want to do some land tours too. Found a website someone recommended -- ShoreTrips.com -- had great choices.

I'm not sure that very many people here know too much about current changes in cruise ship menus and rooms, but...can't remember the name of it, but there's some forums specific to cruise travel where people might be able to answer your questions. Cruise Critic or Cruise Connections.

I think your question would be better asked on either Trip Advisor or Cruise Critic:
Alaska Forum, Travel Discussion for Alaska, United States
Alaska - Cruise Critic Message Board Forums

Thanks. I'm on my way to check out the links provided.

Although I live in two beautiful places, I'm very excited about visiting Alaska for the first time!
