I truly do despair.
Try Craig's List. Alaskan men are just men, like everywhere else. Moving to Anchorage from Seattle and looking for a change? It ain't no freakin' different. Move here for the right reasons and you'll probably find happiness. But--I hate to have to break it to you, but if you're moving to Anchorage thinking the odds are going to be in your favor...they aren't. The ratio is fairly even there and it has every bit as much as the city problems as Seattle does. And for crying out loud, stay the hell out of tanning salons. Do you honestly want to look like a leathery hag in 10 years??? Oh... Quote:
There. You've gotten through the worst of it, an encounter with mean ol' cranky Metla. The rest will be a piece of cake. Best of luck to you. But it sounds like you're hoping that Alaska will fix your life. |

LMAO, i know how my post probably seemed clueless haha.
I am not hoping Alaska will change my life...but that a change will make my life better. I want to be around my family and be in a new environment without SNOBBY people everywhere. I have been to Alaska before as a teenager and loved it but it was also summer time. |

What kind of snobby are they? Please describe them.
Seattle is 90% snobs. I want out of this environment. I can handle snobs in modertion. |

Unfortunately, as do I. "Cute Single Girl Moving to Alaska in March '08..." sounds like an advertisement.
![]() But seriously, Anchorage is like a smaller Seattle. You aren't going to find what you are looking for because you sound rather difficult to please. By the way... modesty might help. |

I gotta say...there are some great guys in Alaska and even some in Anchorage. But I think that most of them really do enjoy an outdoor oriented lifestyle. I'm not sure a woman with a penchant for high heels and fake tans would fit into that. But you could meet the "one", you know, but your chances won't be any better in Anchorage than anywhere else. They may be even worse, what with all the women flocking up to Anchorage these days lookin' for a man.
If you're seeing "snobby people" everywhere...and it seems to be a recurring theme in your posts...ask yourself why you're having that reaction to people. Good luck to you though. |
