I don't know of any libraries that wouldn't benefit from having more resources available for reference or loan.

Is your local library turning you down?

Do you wish to provide new books? Used books? Money for them to buy books?

Rather than provide an address to somewhere that may already have what you wish to provide, maybe tell us what you want to provide so we can give you our best guess as to which libraries might benefit the most by your donation?

Default books

User2:
I have been giving books to the Eagle public library and to the Library at the Alaska Bible College in Glennallen.
The books I have give I try to concentrate on Alaska or Northwest. But also fiction books. Most of them are one I get from bookclouseouts or BooksAMillion 'BAMM' - I use these sources because they will ship either to PO Boxes or to Alaska with no extra charges. Sometimes they are from these same places but are ones that I have read and wish to pass on.
I don't send to Eagle anymore because they never acknowledge receipt. So I don't know if they want more or what.
I do not charge anything - it is just something I like to do if it can be a benefit.

Trying to anticipate which books will be needed, (they might already have the topic well covered), or which books may be desired, (they may have a dire need of certain topics they don't have represented), is very difficult without asking.

Most libraries are constantly changing their collections, replacing worn materials with new and adding to their collections if they can afford it.

Used books are usually welcomed, (at least it's not likely they willl be actively spurned), but most used books will help the library when they have book sales of their own. (Note, I said most of the used books)

I would contact the libraries and see what is their most pressing need and try to help them fill that need, money for them to spend is never refused, (and I'll venture a guess they would acknowledge a steady stream of donated cash).

Good luck, I wish more folks were intent on helping libraries provide the service they provide us with.

Default Haines

Haines has a GREAT local library, in many ways the centerpiece of the community. I see folks donating books there all the time. They have a "friends of the library" link from the municipal website.
