Default Kenai Penisula

Does anyone on this site live on the Kenai Penisula and Ice Fish? I've been trying to find out some information without much luck.

Yes I do. Lot's of great ice fishing on darn near any of the lakes on the peninsula. We just need some ice!

Smile Need Ice and Snow?

Rance , read your reply, has this winter in the Kenai and AK in general been milder so far? Or is this normal? Or is anything Normal anymore?

Is Clam Gulch a town , per se, or a post office, and some cabins?

This has not been a normal winter so far. Definitely warmer and less snow than usual.

I talked to my brother who lives in Girdwood. Ha said he had close to 6 foot of snow and then it rained about 20 inches in 4 or 5 days. It is all gone. I have zero snow in Sterling. I do remember once we had no snow darn near to Christmas. Might be the same this year.
Clam Gultch is a bar/hotel, and some houses along the highway. Blink and you missed it! I can't remember if they even have a post office. If they do it's small like a one room building.

I went to Kelly Lake area today and looked around. I seen a few guys fishing. Looked like about 4 inches of ice. I should hook up with you sometime so you can show me how and where to fish.

Heck you should have stepped out there and introduced yourself! Talking with a buddy of mine this afternoon he said the trout fishing in the Kenai River just below Skilak Lake has been phenominal. He caught a handfull of 30+ inchers last week.

I agree, if this keeps up we may not get a White Christmas. Personally, I blame all the hot air coming from our politicians in DC for Global Warming.

You people will be happy to know that Clam Gulch does indeed have a post office, a portion of which is pictured below.

The zip code is 99568.
