I am thinking of transfering to Anchorage because I need a change from Georgia. Is there a place outside of Anchorage but close to Anchorage that is a good place to live. I am single with no kids. I love the country scenry and I want a change from Georgia. Keep in mind I grew up in Canada so I am use to the cold. I want some place that is low in crime, low cost of living and low communit to Anchorage.

The areas North of Anchorage are a wonderful place in my mind to live, but if you work out of Anchorage, the driving back and forth can get to be a hassle, especially in the Winter and in your pocket.

Girdwood might be alright. Or Indian/Bird Creek. These are south of Anchorage. Of course you have to deal with avalanches etc! But hey...that's half the fun!
