The USA is still the leader in top notch universities and UAA has some great programs and some top notch professors. I was refering to primary school as most people dont carry BS degrees in STEM fields which is where all the credibility is.

To be precise it is the smallest width of 52 miles (51.7) is
As for my question. The answer is simple , we are much closer than 47-52 miles. it is only about 2 miles .In the middle of the Bering Strait lie Diomede Islands . Of these Ratmanova island , larger and located west of the island of Krusenstern , belongs to Russia. Small island , island Krusenstern , located east belongs to the United States. State border , according to the contract of sale of Alaska and the Aleutian Islands in 1867 , held in the middle between them. Distance between о. Big Diomede and o.small Diomede is 1.8 (2 ) miles . There's also the border of time zones and the International Date Line .

You are right the US is a leader in the rankings. But, not as education. Ratings for choosing universities has nothing to do with the level of education in these universities.Average school is the foundation of the educational process.
But I am more interested in the number of schools and universities in Alaska.
