teridb, took us close to 3 months to get relicensed here. They now require fingerprints and 30 ceu's plus some other stuff. We were licensed here for 7 yrs, went south, came back after another 6 yrs. I see you are posting from FL., that is where we were prior to coming back up. FYI, Barrow is a very small hospital--looked into it myself. I do critical care and Barrow wasn't the place for me. Missus does med/surg, surgery and she was not at all interested--but we've been doing this for close to 22 years. Have you considered Anchorage to start out? Get lots of good experience there--we both loved Providence Medical Center. I know a E.D. nurse that works in Soldotna and she loves it. We work in Sitka and have two small hospitals here--the weather isn't as harsh during the winter.
