Default The ultimate Alaska vacation...

Taking a break from classwork (aah! finals!) I decided to play around with google maps, and I devised this, the ultimate Alaska vacation.
It's about 2,500 mi roundtrip, starting and ending in Juneau (of course). It passes through over thirty towns; including Juneau, Haines, Skagway, Whitehorse, Haines Junction, Tok, Delta Junction, North Pole, Fairbanks, Nanana, Healy, Talkeetna, Willow, Wasilla, Anchorage, Coopers Landing, Sterling, Soldoltna, Homer, Kodiak, Seward, Cordova, Valdez, Yakutat, and Gustavus. It involves eight separate ferry rides, and passes through or near 5 different state or national parks. As far as how much it would cost... the answer is way out of my budget. It would be incomprehensibly awesome, though, of that I have no doubt!
So, without further ado, I present to you... The Ultimate Alaska Vacation!

True, but being a starving college student by vocation, I could never afford to go on a three month long vacation!!

Longest vacation I've ever taken was a month. Road trip to the midwest, what a blast that was.

But that is the beauty of it, your obligations will never be less than at this moment. Low income, low outgo, no children, pets, or husbands to slow you down!

By the way for this to be the ultimate vacation, you need a leg to the north, like at least to the Yukon river, and Circle city, or better yet a trip up the haul road to north of the Brooks range. Beautiful country up there too.

Yeah, I was thinking that too but it wouldn't let me route it up there.
If it were me going, I would definitely try to route it up there. I also tried to fit Bethel and the greater Kuskokwim area in there, but apparently the ferry doesn't go there, I didn't know that.

Gotta fly to get here. Can't drive out. I don't think there would be much traffic on a ferry out of here. The closest one is on the peninsula at Cold Bay, I think. That is why I keep a truck in Wasilla but have it registered here. I'm sure they'll get me to do a IM on it sooner or later.
