Default Question about shipping pets to Fairbanks

Hello all,

Has anyone had experience shipping pets to Fairbanks in the winter? I am shipping our dog with us on 4 January. Are there any concerns about shipping that I should have? Thanks in advance.

Depending on where the dog is coming from...it might seem a tad bit colder once he steps off the plane! I have no idea if the pets are in a warm part of the plane while shipping.

Your best bet is to contact the airlines most of them have rules about what temps they will ship pets in. You also have to have certain things in order before they will let you ship.

Make sure you all have up to date shot records on hand. The only personal shipping experience I have had is from Anchorage to Fairbanks on ERA with an 80 pound boxer. He did fine, though it was annoying hearing my dog bark for the first 20 minutes since we were on such a small plane. I am sure people figured out rather fast who the dog belonged to, since I was sinking lower and lower into my seat after every bark lol.

just stuff him in a duffle bag with some dog biscuits. check him in at the airport, and when TSA questions all the moving around just tell them it's just your roommate who is afraid of flying.
they'll loose their minds looking for this issue on their checklists.....
