Received this last night.

The effects of a solar event facing roughly toward Earth, on the 9th of September, should reach Earth around midnight on September 11th UT. Another, larger event, also facing Earth, occured on September 10th, and it should have higher velocity. The effects of the latter event may therefore reach Earth at the same time. Even if it is later, disturbances should be large and last long enough to result in increased auroral activity for the next three to five days.

Nice...unfortunately...we have another storm about to slap the Kenai Peninsula. I'm sure we will be clouded and raining again for this one. Dang it...

We're expecting the same storm Rance mentioned. Hopefully it will be slow traveling our direction.

The announcement went on to say:

Note that we do not expect the aurora to exceed index = 5 or 6 on our scale because the magentosphere has been realtively quiet. However, conditions such as these could lead to auroras observed from the middle or souther states.

You might have a shot of seeing a faint display down there as well, cjs13.

Skies never cleared up and looks like I get to experience my first wind event here. 40mph -60mph sustained with gusts to 80 mph. Might as well get eased into dealing with it and having a wind event hit BEFORE it snows is good for us to see how our cars will do.
