Williams you have to understand that the people here that are actual residents of Alaska see the same questions posted over and over. There is another teacher post just a few months ago and so you may want to check that out.
I was one of the question asking lower 48 people months ago. I still haven't moved to AK yet but my time is coming and thanks to the wonderful people here that helped with links and info my life is better off. Sometimes people post links because they want YOU to do the work if it is something you really desire.
I posted before about the High school teacher that I met locally that was in one of those programs,He went to Barrow,AK. His complaints where the program people didn't live up to all their promises, and for some reason the fool thought that where he was going to be going wasn't "really" as cold as he had read about. He lasted a little more than 2 weeks. I don't know what program he was involved with but I would make sure every little detail is wrote out.

I hope you stay around because really people do want to help. But people here from what I have noticed want to help those that are going to be an asset to communities they would be moving to,not those that are going to be money grabbing,or unappericative of what Alaska really has to offer.
I have had some get stern with me and I took it and kept going and I am very glad I did. And maybe one day I will meet some of them and tell them just how much their help really meant.

Yep, definitely check out http://alaskateacher.org. This is where I started when I was looking for a teaching job in AK. They should be having their annual job fair in Anchorage this April. A lot of people even leave with contracts, I did! Just browse the job postings on the ATP website and use the information given by the districts hiring to make contacts. If you are planning on going to the job fair, tell the district(s) you are interested in beforehand, and some will go ahead and set up interviews in advance if they know you are coming. The job fair is great fun and you can meet lots of people from every district. Good luck!
