The White Spot is truely a greasy spoon. I guess that would make the Lucky Wishbone in Anchorage an upscale greasy spoon. At least at The Bone they have a parking lot.

I thought Arctic Pizza was a thing not a place, opps. I was thinking a $50 pizza this thing must be some kind of huge for that price.

Somewhere I still have a menu for Arctic Pizza. At that time they had a pizza called the "Kitchen Sink" that included almost every topping they had. The price for a large was $85. And it was just a normal large. I think your gonna be in for some price shock once you get here.........

Isn't that pizza delivered via air to the North Slope Borough villages? There's a pizza place in Barrow that delivers to Nuiqsit, Pt Hope, Pt Lay, Atkasuq, etc.

I actually have checked at a few places online where I could see menu's and prices and they aren't but maybe $1-$5 dollars more for items we order here when we go out. Maybe it was because that place was a "locally owned" or remote. I have only looked in Fairbanks because I figure that we would only be dining out when there, since there aren't but 1 place to eat where we will be.

In Fairbanks, my choice for outstanding small restaurant is Sam's Sourdough Cafe. Outstanding sourdough pancakes! And the portions are large.

Gwennies in Anchorage is probably the best by far! Portions are way too huge! food is excelent too!
Sams Sourdough cafe in Fairbanks is definetly one of the top two restruants for breakfast. I also like the Bakery for breakfast. Now Megansmom, when you folks get to Fairbanks, if you like Prime Rib, make reservations and drive out to Fox for dinner at the Turtle Club. some of the best prime rib in the country. |

I can never finish ANYTHING at Gwennies. I am a short guy and only weigh 160, (The holidays notwithstanding), and I have a slow metabolism to boot. I would lookl like a fat little oinker if I ate in that place everyday.

Arctic, you ever stop by Clear Sky Ranch on the highway near Anderson for a burger? Pretty good ones there. I usually stop in there on the way up or back from Fairbanks.
