Nope... might be a few errant flakes but nothing big. I presume that storm has now moved south and is hitting you. It was nasty there for a while. Most classes got cancelled yesterday- morning ones because we had no power and evening ones because everyone wanted to go to the caucus.

Dear elieen
My regrets are with you on your husband.
However Alaska Fairbanks in experiencing 47 to 55 minor, that is below 0 degree. People in the interior of the state are real focus. That is focus on keeping fuel in the home tank and in the cars. Most people work from dark to dark in the winter months. And the same in the summer months. If you are a christian person that fellowship in church there is a church on every corner. If you are a night life person there are six bars on the corner of Airport and Cushman. we have public transportation sch as cabs, bus, and limo. the hotels are low cost in winter, but there are expensive up to 300 a day in summer. booking is a must in the tourist season. tourism on the Alaska train from Fairbanks to Denali Park I was told a beautiful sight. and to Anchorage. Anchorage has much more to do and see. It's more like a big city. Fast and unfriendly. Fairbanks is slow and friendly. Take your pick. But remember the road is dangerous in the winter traveling to Anchorage. If you are into outdoor ski the brich ski resort on Fort Wainwright is open to public. Most people I know fellowship at churches. Fairbanks is a work town and women use to be able to come here an find a husband (somebody's else husband) Because most of the men that is worth anything is already married. Or they have a live-in man or woman. They can see a (newbie) coming from the airport. Somebody calls and let them known you are on your way. If you have a problem with Coldness and darkness this is not the place. If you don't have a problem.

I would just like to learn about the place, the stuff the books don't tell you. Anyone interested?

I'm 48, have no designs on dating, relationship or dying.
Moving to Seward area (hopefully)this summer for a (hopeful) job, so have been researching the area quite a bit.
Have lived in the state about a year now.
It's a great state, and don't let someone dying keep you from living.
