Haven't been on for a while and can't help but jump in here. Good for you - I have a personal relationship with Jesus as well - anyone who reads the Bible regularly and gets to know him through his word can't help but grow closer to him. I, personally, can't see how folks get through the valleys of their lives without him - knowing he's on the other side of that valley is what keeps me going.

There you go. See, I've always felt that religion is, or at least should be, a personal thing. If being spiritual, no matter what higher power you worship, helps you to be a better person, make difficult decisions, or simply get through tough times, then it's great! It's when people start believing that their religion is better or more correct than others, or when people expect other people to follow the rules of a religion that isn't theirs, I start taking exception.

I believe that Jesus existed and that he was an exceptional human being...but that he was a human being. I also believe that he would be more than appalled by some of what is going on in the world in "his name". One of those things would be people trying to push their personal beliefs on others on message boards and using him as the catalyst.

Not that I know of. Other than while I was in line in the cafeteria I was practicing my mob accent, and this baby was staring at me. He babbled something and I said something along the lines of "yah [mob accent] is bettah- yah shoohd join uhp." I might have pissed off the mother.

Yea, I think Jesus WOULD be pretty mortified by what is being said and done in his name. It's often "over the moon" Christians who give Christianity a bad name. When someone starts out with any sort of disclaimer, usually in the form of "I'm a Christian, believer...fill in the blank" I run from the hills. Why should this prelude be relevant? Do as you believe and your actions will speak for themselves.
