Hey there,

What is the current rate of pay for preschool teachers or child care center workers? Where are the best preschools to teach and what is the rate for that school?

Also, I have a 1 year old, so let me know if you know of any schools that give you a discount for teaching there while also bringing your child to a class.

Thank you!

My sister-in-law used to have her kids at Rising Star and loved them: Home Page
I don't think the workers/teachers get much above minimum wage...

Are you a certified teacher? Interested in head start?

If you're certified I would look into Head Start. The HS programs in Alaska are great! I worked for one in SE AK and made the equivalent of a district teacher. Daycare/preschool workers in AK make very low wages though. Some only pay minimum wage, others might pay $12-$13. There is a huge shortage of childcare in many parts of the state too. Just something to think about

I think this person is using the word teacher to mean someone who works at a day care and is not actually a teacher.
