I'm thinking of visiting Alaska this summer, and I would like to know which place in the state is considered the best for tourists. I know there are plenty of tourist hotspots in Alaska, so please let me know which place do you think is most attractive.

The TripAdvisor forums for Alaska is a great resource: Alaska Forum, Travel Discussion for Alaska, United States

How long of a trip are you looking at? Do you want to cruise or were you looking for a land trip? What are your interests and ability? Kids? Elderly? Young hikers?

Likely a long one. A land trip would be my most likely option, and hiking/cycling's more of my thing.

Are you driving or flying up? I am going to assume flying up since it's a vacation. The drive from Anchorage down to the Kenai Peninsula all the way to Homer is pretty scenic. You can hang out on the homer spit for a few hours and it's very beautiful. Lots of glaciers and mountains coming straight up out of the bay. You can take a quick boat ride across the bay and doing some pretty cool hiking, including hiking right up to a glacier.

If you are super adventurous, my next adventure I am planning is a bike ride down the Denali highway. You could always plan something big like that. There is plenty to do and you can't go wrong with whatever you choose. It's pretty hard to not have a great time in Alaska as a tourist. Enjoy.

By long, do you mean a week? Two weeks? A month?
Alaska is spread out enough, that basing yourself in one place limits how much you can see. So most visitors to Southcentral Alaska rent a car or RV to explore. You can use the train or tour buses, but it'll limit your options.
Denali National Park and the Kenai Peninsula are both top attractions. My favorite spots also include Valdez, a Prince William Sound glacier cruise and the Matanuska Glacier.
For hiking, Denali has a lot of that. http://www.nps.gov/dena/planyourvisit/dayhiking.htm
