Ice and snow are wonderful stuff. Not wet, not slippery, not mushy, not miserable! Good snow even squeaks and crunches when you walk on it (ya gotta be north of the Alaska Range to get snow that good though!).

The awful stuff (sleet, slush, etc etc) only happens in those darned places where it get too blasted warm. And after actually getting used to not having to deal with that, it gets very hard to imagine trading snow for the misery of more heat than a body can stand....
