I used to get a pretty good local discount at the fudge company; do they do that in Juneau?

Haven't been to Annie Kails. Are they open year round? I'm going to be hiding down here for the summer, it seems.

Working in a gallery is all right...kind of inspiring, really. But in any kind of retail in the port cities...these past few years it seems to be quite the thing for the tourons to try to "haggle" over prices. Try to work in a place that doesn't allow that, and has signs posted to that affect. Of course that won't stop them from trying but they tend to be less unpleasant about it if you can point out that its store policy not to negotiate prices.

If I ever worked in the tour industry, it would be behind the scenes. The good thing about being an airline pilot is there is a door between me and the passengers. They become the FAs problems

Yes, they're year round and locally owned. Full of funky and neat stuff. I think Annie Kail's has been around since before I was born.

I can be firm. "Sir, our prices are non-negotiable." Then give 'em the ole' stink eye.

I dont have that much stuff, thankfully.

Yeah, I am hoping my transfer goes through. I have heard nothing but good things about the program also. I dont want to spend 120K to go to Embry-Riddle in boring Arizona or Florida.

A friend of mine went to Embry-Riddle. I never heard from him again. Maybe Amway snuffed him & his parents for not making their monthly quota.

Here's something interesting... Did anyone ever wonder how much diesel fuel Juneau uses each day?

Alaska Electric Light and Power Company's homepage

I don't wonder, I know.
AEL&P is applying for permits because all this diesel usage is going to violate CBJ clean air regs. Normally, this is the kind of thing I would be outraged about... but I don't see that we have a choice.
